New SAP Sybase ASE Threaded Kernel Metrics

Starting in version 15.7, SAP Sybase ASE supports a new threaded kernel design along with new features for monitoring the performance and activity levels of the server’s various thread pools.

ProActive DBA 9.1 includes support for gathering performance metrics about ASE’s thread pools, as part of the TimeLine performance monitor.

The new metrics are tracked per thread pool as well as by individual thread types for system pool threads.  The metrics include user and system CPU time usage, context switches, page faults and more.
