Overview
The TimeLine Table Scan Monitoring Option extends the TimeLine performance monitor to provide information and analysis of long-running table and index scans that occur on your monitored servers.
The Table Scan Monitoring Option is supported on SAP Sybase ASE and Microsoft SQL Servers.
Features
The TimeLine Table Scan Monitoring Option lets you gather and report on information about table scans in several ways:
- In TimeLine’s process snapshot list, when you select a process, any table scans that were detected while the process was running the current SQL statement are displayed;
- You can report on long-running table scans aggregated over longer periods of time by using the TimeLine Top-N Table Scans Report;
- When used with the TimeLine Alerting Option, you can create a Long Running SQL Table Scan alert that triggers when a query runs longer than expected and a table scan occurs;
- When used together with the TimeLine Reporting Option, you can use the other TimeLine snapshot-based reports (such as the Top-N Applications Report) to rank items by the number of table scans that were detected.
